Wellbeing and change, both of these are important together. Without change we would not have the wellbeing we all long for. I believe that this in itself should be the purpose to strive for.
Routine; We all have a routine, some stick to this more than others. There are times I can honestly say that we may not stick to the routine. Life, work and duties and tiredness from the day all are factors which contribute to this. Our response to trying to establish and maintain a routine maybe “ I will do this tomorrow” , “ leaving it another day won’t hurt.”
Purposefillingchange response; Give yourself a purpose to your routine. In other words what makes this routine important. Below are a variety of ways to motivate yourself.
Sleep; keeping a consistent sleep schedule will allow you to have time to recharge. We see sleep as closing our eyes, and off to ‘noddy land’ . But just think, having a set time will give you that golden moment to reflect whilst you wait to fall asleep. Reflection; Appreciations for the day, what have you learnt about yourself or others, meditation, prayer and thankfulness.
Healthy Eating; This is a common hard one we know it is difficult to keep. Why is this? I always ask myself this question, my answer is that lack of self-control for the sweet stuff or the crispy greasy snacks. But what if we made a conscious decision, we had a strong goal or purpose for the change we are making. For example, the aim for a spring in our step for confidence, feeling lighter and happy in ourselves. To improve our overall health and obstacles we may face physically.
Whatever the reason if we know it’s for an outcome that has a strong purpose the more we have the motivation to complete it.
Exercise; one of my favourite reasons to get moving, it’s easy to forget the multiple benefits and harder to stick to it when we let our bodies doubt our abilities or when we tell ourselves “one more day to sit down”. But let me tell you this; through exercise you will have better sleep, it also relieves the stress of the day and improves memory.

The more you take time to reflect on the purpose of the things around you, this will gear you up to want the best for yourself. Most of the time we are quick to take onboard an idea and slow to realise why we are doing it. By taking 5 minutes to think about why this will benefit you will allow your motivation to increase.
Personal hygiene; I maybe stating the obvious here, but just as other routines fail, we may continue this but not to the 5-star quality that our body desires or deserves. For example, rushing to have a shower in the morning. Would be great reason to spare some time in the evening to have a hot bath and soak that will remind your body how loved and relaxed it is.
The purpose this has is satisfied and comfortable sleep and a reason to have silence therapy where you mind can hear the running waters. Try it! Maybe even accompany this time with some background music. My favourite is relaxing nature sounds or instrumental with the sound of water.
Creating your own Purpose/Wellbeing Box
Spiritual upkeep; I believe that we are so much more than the physical. I respect others difference of opinion on this. But the effects and impact I have noticed in my own life is witness that I need this upkeep. We all have hectic days, not just in work task but the draining aspects of situations, challenges and negativity that may affect how we feel in the day.
I call this the wipe your feet effect, just as much as we have bank accounts, I see it that we have well-being accounts. We have so much outgoings in our life that may make us spiritually drained. So, let’s top-up or account with prayer, meditation and scriptures. As from my own testimony I know that God has done wonders for my life and I have always had peace at the end of the day.
Take note of your wellbeing, you will surely start to see a difference.
